In 2010, Walter Klassen participated in The Jesus Discovery (Discovery Channel), a documentary about the exploration of a 2000 year old burial tomb said to be located near the resurrection site of Jesus Christ. For the film, Walter constructed an aluminum crane arm supporting a high definition GE camera and an eight metre fiberoptic camera to navigate inside the niches of the tomb as well as inside crevices between ossuaries. The mechanical arm was designed to retract from 1 to 4 metres inside the tomb and could be controlled precisely and externally from above ground.
This device enabled the film's production team to successfully capture never before seen footage from inside the tomb, leading them to unearth ancient symbols and scripts. These discoveries helped support the claim that this tomb may have been located near Jesus' original burial site.
